Aqualife BioStream systems can be configured with a range of intelligent control and monitoring accessories that improve transfer efficiency, protect fish welfare, and give the operator precise control over the process.
Flow Control
Flow Control is a modern feature that lets the operator set a target line speed (for example, 2 m/s) instead of a traditional pump speed percentage. In applications where consistent fish delivery speed is critical, or where system head changes during the process, the pump automatically adjusts its speed to maintain the set line velocity.
A common example is a drain/crowd operation: as the tank water level drops, static head increases. Flow Control detects this change and continuously adjusts pump speed so fish arrive at the grading/counting/vaccination unit at a steady, controlled rate throughout the transfer.
Density Evaluation
Density Evaluation uses a line sensor that continuously monitors the density of fish moving through the pipeline. The system logs density data and allows the operator to set a target density. When actual density moves outside the preset range, the system provides clear visual feedback telling the operator to reduce or increase the crowding rate.
This feedback helps maximize transfer efficiency while preventing overloaded grading systems or unnecessarily long transfer times caused by under-crowding.
Air Sense Priming
Air Sense Priming is a simple add-on that can be fitted to any standard pump. It detects air on the suction side and automatically activates the priming system to purge the line.
By eliminating air before it reaches the pump, the system reduces the risk of cavitation and improves fish safety. It is especially valuable when pumping from low-water tanks where vortices can easily form and pull air into the suction line.
Density Control
Density Control is a standalone system installed on the suction line of the fish pump. It continuously monitors fish density and automatically reduces density to a preset level whenever the line becomes too dense, or increases the density if the line density becomes too low.
The system is supplied with a secondary pump or can be integrated into an existing water supply. It is particularly useful for counting, grading, or vaccination lines where the primary fish pump can deliver more biomass than the downstream equipment can handle.
